Colombia Rio coffee is produced by members of Co Agustinos, an association of approximately 800 small coffee farmers from the municipality of San Agustin and other communities in the department of Huila, Colombia. Co Agustinos members, in collaboration with an export company called Inconexos, coordinate efforts to support the farmers of the Huila Agustino Forest coffee. Currently, projects are underway that include infrastructure improvements for each producer's farm, as well as training sessions. These training sessions aim to improve coffee quality and environmental protection practices in the region where the coffee is produced.
This organic crop is processed using the washed method, where the outer skin of the coffee is separated immediately after harvest, then the beans are immersed in water for 6 to 72 hours of fermentation until the honeydew film surrounding the beans is removed. They are then placed on drying beds for 5 to 7 days.
This coffee has great classic flavors with moderate acidity and bitterness, plus a balanced body.
